If I go to the Apple store and purchase an unlocked phone, can I switched carriers, just pretty much by just a sim swap.
So if I have Verizon right now but in the next 30-60 days want to switch to T-Mobile or Att, is that as simple as just sim swapping?

Kinda the whole point to having an unlock phone, yes. 😉

I wasn't sure if soft-locked to the carrier upon sim insertation.
Requiring me to contact the current carrier before swapping sim cards.

So if I wanted I could have an active Verizon sim and an active TMobile sim. And make a Verizon call, swap sims, make a TMobile call, swap back and make a Verizon call, in theory.

Yes. Or you could just use eSim ( since about 2018 ).

I am kinda late but you could also use T-Mobile and Verizon SIM at the same time as dual SIM 🙂

Yes, as others have said. Simple and easy. Just swap sims and restart. I’ve done that several time. That’s the reason I buy unlocked from Apple. If I find a better prepaid plan, I want the transition to be simple abs quick.
