Unlocking a Verizon iPhone 4S without gevey

Hello,
I have a verizon iphone 4S. Right after my college was over I was planning on getting it unlocked but a family emergency came up and I had to come back to India and couldnt get it unlocked.

I am currently using it with a Gevey but the problem is there are so many things that work with a hit or miss. iMessage thinks I still have the US phone number...

Any suggestions?

I dont have a account with them anymore... I transferred the line to a friend to avoid ETF fees.

Have your friend activate the phone back on this line, call support, unlock it, transfer it off.

I've seen somewhere about unlock Verizon about by IMEI, that was costing more than $100 as I remember.
