Unlocking and Jailbreaking an Iphone3g

So I have jailbroken an ipod touch before, and I have tmobile and I want to get an iphone3g. My question is, after I buy one, do I jailbreak it first, then use yellowsn0w to unlock it? Does the order matter? I pretty much have to have it jailbroken first to even be able to run yellowsn0w right?

You HAVE to jailbreak it to download yellowsn0w from either Cydia or Installer.

Also, you joined today or yesterday and you clearly did not even bother reading any of the existing threads about unlocking which include what's required.
