    Hi all,

I've got an old 3GS I bought last year from a friend in the states. Back then I Jailbroke the phone - with the advice of the users on this forum - to get it working on O2 but I've only just read that AT&T are now unlocking old iPhones. I wouldn't mind this as I haven't upgraded the OS on the phone and it's becoming less and less compatible for new apps.

I've read that AT&T will only unlock if you're a current or previous user or can prove you bought it from a seller that they've OK'd.

Anyone know if it's possible to get the handset unlocked over here in the UK without paying an exorbitant unlocking fee?

    Cheers for all your help.

Have your friend call and request the unlock.
