Okay so I've been reading about swift unlock. I'm find with paying the $3. Few questions I'm trying to figure out though. Do I need to be out of my contract first? Also I've been reading about using another sim. Is it necessary to have another sim from another carrier?

You don't have to Connect the phone to iTunes or restore it. You just put the new sim from the other carrier and then on your iphone it will say activation required and then it will check with Apple servers if it's unlocked, and if it is it will read your SIM card. Did this on 3 5S,s
