Is there a way to unlock an AT&T iphone so it can me used with verizon? If yes, is it worth it and how difficult. I have been told yes and that I can also use the prepaid service, but that is by unreliable sources. Thanks.

No. The iPhone 3G works on GSM, not CDMA, which is what Verizon uses. It is not possible at all. This isn't even possible with the new 4S. it has to be activated on a CDMA network before you can unlock it to use on any GSM carrier. CDMA capable iPhones cannot be activated on a CDMA network if they are activated on a GSM network first.

Thanks. I was afraid of that, so I am basically stuck buying new phones just to switch to Verizon. That sucks and so does AT&T.
