Unlocking iPhone 4

Hi I decided to upgrade my iPhone 4 from 5.0 to 5.0.1 as my jailbreak is still tethered and bring so much trouble. I wonder if jailbreak for iPhone 5.1 is still tethered? If so I guess 5.0.1 is still the way to go if I don't want to boot with my Mac.

Just want to confirm before making this step, thank you very much for all your time and help. 🙂

You must have the 5.0.1 hash and APTicket file saved to update to 5.0.1
You can use Redsn0w to verify these files

Thanks for your help. Just wonder how to save the hash and APTicket. I already used TinyUmbrella to save my 5.0.1 shsh and was about to follow the guide in iClarified to create my custom 5.0.1 ipsw so I can restore without upgrading my baseband (I am still in 1.59.00). That should allow me to jailbreak afterward and use ultrasn0w to unlock the phone again is that right?

You must already have saved them, it is too late to get them now
As long as you have both files, Redsn0w can verify that.
You need to stitch both to a No_BB IPSW

Why dont u just use snowbreeze and choose baseband mode. It will make a almost stock firmware with just the baseband saved then jailbreak tethered and ultrasnow it.
