Unlocking with Face ID in car holder

Since it’s clear that Apple won’t allow Face ID to work in landscape mode, how are people adjusting to unlocking their devices when the phone is in a car holder in landscape? Just wondering if there are any workarounds with getting it to work in landscape. I turn my head sharply and it works only about 50% of the time. Disappointing...
 
Yeah, i'm honestly having a hell of a time using the X while in the car. Maybe we shouldn't be unlocking our phones while we're driving 😉
