The wording Apple are using for the $399 price cut ("this holiday season"), would make it seem a newer, more expensive model ($499?) would be on the way early 08...maybe MacWorld?

wow, their service plans are expensive in germany. why do people always say how cheap european carrier plans are?

200 minutes and 100 messages for $69? we get 450 minutes and 200 messages for $59!

Does anyone think that Apple might offer an "upgrade" price to send in our old phones to make them 3g and 16g?

That is...if the European rumor is true.

Oh god, don't start. We barely survived the "Apple owes us $200" nonsense.

Yeah....right...did anyone check to see if this has been photochopped? I highly doubt that apple would release a 3G iPhone so soon. I think early next year maybe, but that'll be something they'd announce at macworld.

For those of you that say apple wouldn't release a 3G iPhone so soon, let's not forget what just happened this week with the price cut.

The cell phone industry isn't the same as the mp3 player industry. Apple is in a fierce battle now to situate itself at the top. It also left that $499 price slot available for an 'updated' iPhone.

I was questioning their wording too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought they might be up to something. ;)

As PupnTaco said, it calls it an iPod. Also, if someone could read the German and tell if it's proper or sounds like the wording of a cell phone company, that would be great.

Bogus. Not only is the layout of the ad amateurish, it calls the device "Apple iPod 16GB."

    No.

No. And No. Expect nothing more except software upgrades for your original purchase.

The rebate was a bonus. A ram upgrade is insane to expect.
