unread emails bug in iOS 7?

i have a friend who claims that there phone is showing 11 unread emails but they have already read them and can not get it to go away. any ideas?

It seems that the e-mail app is a little bit slow in registering the read e-mail, so I've found that when I read an e-mail I just have to stay in the app until it shows the update below. Seems like it takes an extra few seconds to clear up. If no, you can always mark all as read. It seems like a bug.

I'm not sure how. It takes the very simple concept of e-mail and makes it easier for you to read & manage your messages & mailbox.

The snoozing feature is invaluable and has genuinely made managing my mail a breeze each day.
