Unsubscribing from a Newsstand Magazine?

I currently purchase my magazines on Newsstand individually, as I have heard some horror stories regarding the inability to unsubscribe after selecting the 'Subscribe for one year' (Apple / the publisher auto-renews the magazine subscription).

However, I'd like to switch to subscribing to magazines as opposed to buying each of them individually (saves the hassle of opening the app every time to go through the whole process every month).

How does the subscribing process for magazines in Newsstand work? How do you unsubscribe (if you want to)?

It's all done in the iTunes Store. You can add/conttrol any subscriptions right on your account page.
