just like I'd expect someone who likes Alexa to use all their devices, and same with Google and Android.

Not really, by far the majority of people I know who have an android phone are using Amazon echo over Google home. I know more that use the Home or Echo over Homepod. Those that use the Echo have an iPad over a Fire and so on.

People use what works for them, regardless of who makes it. Those that focus only on Apple do so because it's so closely connected as much if not more than their devices being the best.

I consider the Apple Watch to be the best wearable, the Airpods to be the best truly wireless headphones, and the Homepod to be the best sounding smart speaker. You're making blanket statements for others by projecting your opinions of "what's best".

Do not all of you understand that he is just a troll who does not intend to have a serious discussion
Thanks, but it's fun to play with people like that :p

I never said anything was "best". I did state

by far the majority of people I know

Not opinion, that's their position. Although I should have clearer in that my comment on Apple was made on the same basis,, i.e. the people I know choose multiple devices made by Apple as its easy for them, rather than being the best.

In order to know what is best, for you, you need to have tried all the others. Who has? Not many so therefore the decision to use a particular device is rarely based on personal experience of all devices.

You did say "Those that focus only on Apple do so because it's so closely connected as much if not more than their devices being the best.", insinuating that people settle for Apple products because of integration, rather than them being the "best" (your word)

Also, while that may be the case for many, I have tried Alexa, Google Home, and get quite a few new Android phones each year from work. I work in Mobile Device Management, so one of my jobs is to be as platform agnostic as I can.

No one wants it because it only works with a few Apple products, it's like that LG Ultrafine monitor that could have added Displayport, but didn't. I would have bought one and tried it, but why would I buy a speaker that only works with Apple products? Makes no sense to do that, I can buy other speakers that support Airplay 2, but also support 3.5mm, optical, bluetooth, wifi, ethernet and anything else.
Privacy. Thats why.

The FM signal stink in my area - most channels keep flapping between mono and stereo. I would buy few homepods if I could listen FM radio stations on it, but that is I guess too much to expect from Apple.

Whats the problem? Install app on you phone for radio and airplay too HomePod

That is the problem actually. I want this to be independent just like Apple Music is. We have people coming and going all day, and tying someone's phone to such service is just not the convenience and user experience I would expect from the Apple.

Then HomePod is nothing for you then. Buy a Sonos One

I have 5k, 4K, and Homepods?! Nooooooooooo

But actually any computer with c for 4K or tb3 for 5k can use them, got a nuc on 4K.

Native apps on HomePod is most limiting feature for me, but at least with shortcuts you can now automatically stream some services to it.

Have you created shortcuts for Tidal by chance?
