Guys, you really should stop judging people, I have an ipod and am more than happy with it. This one is for my Dad who will use it in very limited sessions. as a result, an ipod would have been a total waste of money.

I am just trying to introduce an old fossil to the modern "LP". If anyone is able to assist, please help, also i have tried pm'ing Washac to find out how he fixed this but to no avail, If anyone can contact him, could you point him towards this thread?

Many thanks all,

Phil

I judged. And not in the way you think. Sorry that I put it flippantly though.

It's one of the reasons I don't buy my parents for example 'entry-level' technological items 'because they're not going to use it much and it'll be a waste of money otherwise'. Assuming minimal and/or basic use and buying a basic thing means that you're usually restricting the inexperienced user in a way that you didn't consider.

An iPod (or any other player with an intuitive interface, easy total usage pattern, wide industry support and a solid support chain) is far better for a basic user, because it'll have a better chance of being used.
