iPhone 17 up/downgrading from 13 pro to base 17?

anyone ever upgrade to last year's model on SALE/discount the moment the new one comes out?

i want to upgrade from 13 pro to either 17 pro or base 17. for example i see already iphone air is $150 off at best buy already and new phone isnt announced yet. and im reading that usually there are sales when new one announced, like 17/pro will be on sale when 18 is announced.

on another note, im debating chucking telephoto lens to basically get upgrade in every other department and save money too, by getting base 17 upgrade from 13 pro instead of 17 pro. and also much cheaper than pro and so much lighter in the hand. ( i would either trade in the 13 pro or give it to a family member).
anyone went from an old PRO phone to a NEW BASE phone?

i know but stores like walmart/best buy target will still have left overs.
but my question is moreover, if anyone was happy going from an old PRO to a much newer NON-pro.
P.S. do you think that apple will start seling 17 pro refurbished once they start selling 18?

I have considered going from my 15 Pro to a 17 base but it wasn’t enough of an upgrade. For you with a 13 Pro, it would be a nice jump. If you don’t use the telephoto lens the 17 Base should be perfect for you.
