Not sure if I've somehow caused this, or it's a universal change applied to everyone ... ?

I'm still on 12.3 (a little hesitant to upgrade my phone and ATV 4K to 13 until the 'dust settles' (seems too many complaints)... Anyway, within the past few days I noticed the shows I'd finished watching no longer appear in the top preview area on the main app screen when I'm on the ATV app, as well as within the app itself. It just shows promos for things I assume Apple thinks you should be interested in -- What to Watch. I was thinking it used to show What's Next... But my memory is fuzzy.

For instance, if I wasn't finished watching a movie that was tied in to the ATV app, it would show the progress and be the first icon/movie/show listed. It was nice to easily resume what I was watching. Now all that's gone. Only shows What to Watch

The only thing I've changed in the past week was my Apple ID password. So I've had to log back in. I've logged out and back in a second time. I've watched shows. Some unfinished. No change. There's only static What to Watch promos. The apps are also still tied in to the ATV account (verified this in Settings).

Anyone else experience this? Or have ideas?

Yep, that was a convenient feature. I was watching a movie yesterday, paused the movie and came back 30 min later. Normally, up next would show my current movie progress. Instead of having this nice convenient feature, I had to go into the movies app, then find rentals, then select the movie I had rented to continue it. Why this feature would get removed puzzles the hell out of me.

I've submitted a bug report. Apple normally cares about the user experience so this is a step backwards, assuming it's some kind of universal change or bug forced on everyone regardless of OS version. If this was genuinely removed with intent, I'd love to understand the rationale. Makes zero sense IMO.

Still available on mine, have you tried a reset?
Not sure what you’re expecting from sending a bug report, first thing they’re going to ask is are you on the latest software version.
I see no reason not to update to TvOS 13 myself, mines working flawlessly at the moment.

It’s not on your home screen. That’s the problem. It’s definitely a step backwards.

Can’t say it not being on the home screen is a problem for me, I just open the TV app and what I need is right there.

It cool that you don’t mind. For others, it’s an extra step in the process. You didn’t need to open the app before.

Circling back. I changed my region to another country, then back to the US, and voila... Up Next returned! Bizarre side effect, but glad it happened. FYI in case anyone else is still on 12 and lost their Up Next as well. Might give it a try.
