I use my iPhone for music in my car. It's connected via a Lightning cable, through an Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter, to the 30-pin Apple connector in my car (at the end of a custom cable supplied with my car).

Just about everything works fine this way. But what isn't working is Apple Music's Up Next feature when listening to a channel. Attempting to access Up Next while my iPhone is connected to my car results in a warning message that the accessory (my car's audio system) is not compatible with Up Next. If I unplug the Lightning cable, Up Next works fine.

I am using a GENUINE Apple brand Lightning to 30-pin adapter (purchase at an Apple Store).

It's a minor annoyance, but annoying nonetheless.

Also, I'm disappointed that there's not a Classic R&B channel. The regular R&B channel plays some classic R&B, but also plays some newer R&B that I'm not particularly fond of. I've already started trying to customize the existing R&B channel by "heart"ing the classic R&B songs I like, but it would be helpful if there was a "don't like" option too.

The rest of the Music channels seem pretty well defined. My wife likes the Soft Pop channel more than any other.

I appreciate Apple giving us 3 months for free, but... I don't see myself continuing with a paid subscription after the 3 months is up. Pandora gives me what I want for $3.99/month instead of $9.99/month. Apple's service is just too expensive.

Up Next allows you to re-order the songs that are going to play next. Your headunit in your car probably has a feature that captures the upcoming playlist and stores it for browsing in-the car. If you were to modify the playlist with Up Next, the car would be out of sync (it doesn't yet know how to handle changes to Up Next - old protocol). I have the same issue, but I think it's just due to Apple adding new capabilities to Up Next while cars have old software that haven't yet been updated.

I don't think that's the case. Before 8.4 I used a Cydia tweak called UpNext and that worked fine in my car. But Apple's implementation in 8.4 doesn't. I'm not sure why
