I don't have the Flash Drive with me, but if memory serves, it's about 4.7GBs. It took about 45 minutes to download on my MBA (using WiFi).
Well I'm over 24 now.
Purchased my rMBP on the 21st in an Apple Store here in Canada.
I'm not in any hurry, as I have the GM installed, but, I dunno... there's something nagging at me to install the version from the App Store, even though I know full well that GM and what was released yesterday are the exact same versions.

Make sure you input the serial # correctly
Submitted my request yesterday at 5:00 pm. It asked for proof of purchase. This AM no validation code yet. Thinking that I may have entered my serial number incorrectly-O instead of 0, I resubmitted it. This time it did not ask for proof of purchase and it gave me a new verification code. Hopefully this will go through faster because it won't require a human to verify the proof of purchase.

Actually it is 4.34GB. I am currently downloading on a network speed of 20Mbps, but the wireless at my desk is bad and is reducing it to 12Mbps and is saying it will be about 40mins, I may have to end up moving into the hall for a little bit to speed it up, since I lost my Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, I think I need to suck it up and purchase another one.

K I gave up after 26 hours, I bought it.. downloading now. Gonna call Apple afterwards and see if I can get a refund, since I'm suppose to get it free. I'll let you know how it works out.
I just bought it. Gonna file a claim and say it was purchased on accident bla bla bla. then once my code comes, i punch it in and get it back in my purchases tab.

I got so sick of waiting for the code that i just paid for it, but i decided I was not going to let it go to waste, I am give it to some one I know, since I legally can't sell it and it is not worth the trouble to deal with a $20 refund from apple.
gave in last night and bought it. it took 30 min to download and 20 minutes to install. emailed apple and within 45 minutes they emailed me back saying they would refund me the $19.99.

What email address did you use? I"m in the same boat...code issues galore so I paid for it and want a refund.
so do i need to update from mountain lion gm when i get my code? don't want to install it twice :-/
Been waiting almost 24 hours now. I'm not bothered that I don't get the new OS the second day, but the process shouldn't be taking this long if Apple were doing things correctly.
I crossed the 24 hour threshold this morning.
I've just had a discussion with an Apple support person in the US. As we all know by now, they sent out some codes yesterday that didn't work. According to the rep, the problem went well beyond a few codes. Evidently in excess of 80,000 duplicate codes were sent yesterday. He repeated the current official statement, which is that it may take as long as 72 hours for Apple to retrench and get all of the backlogged and duplicated codes sent out.
You can be sure that some team at Apple is sweating bullets right now. And probably updating their resumes.
Since this is the day I had set aside to do the upgrade, I'll probably just spend the $20 and give the code, when it arrives, to my business partner who's just inherited my 2011 17" MBP.

I received my password for the PDF this morning, but then received a second PDF. The password works on the new PDF, which makes me think that the first PDF contains a bum code.

They are giving out keys for a 20$ OS upgrade! The process should be quite simple on there end. Check the purchase date of the serial # and if one was already sent. If it all matches send a key via email. They're complicating it by sending out multiple emails with passwords to unlock pdf's and stuff. Just send the keys and get on with it.
I could write the code and build the database for this in about 10 minutes.

Well... I just got my new code. And guess what? Its not for OS X ML. Its for OS X 10.8 ML Server! You can't even install 10.8 Server unless you have Mountain Lion already installed.
I just got off the phone with Apple and they said that some people were sent Server codes by mistake. And guess what? They said it may take another 1-2 days for the new codes to come in.
I'm starting to get annoyed.
