Looks almost exactly like the family when the watch was first released in 2015... #imnotmad #imdisapointed

I know a few want to see an updated SE come out and I hope Apple will reconsider. I don't need all the added stuff found on the current lineup and it seems the only thing "new" will be more cameras lens. Other than that, I will just browse on the sidelines to see what's new on the hardware side when the official announcement come out.

It sure is powerful for its size. And I wouldn't want to do without mine. But its content creation abilities are severely limited. The day an iPhone enables me to do my job, (I make the art in the games you play and the Visual Effects in the movies/TV series you watch) I will stop calling it a toy. It's not really even much of a small tool for me at the moment, beyond its photography abilities. Yet even there it is limited.
That day was years ago. I’ve been using my iPhone for business use for quite a long time. It certainly isn’t a toy for me.

Yawn. This is the most boring pipeline I’ve ever seen from a company this size. So little to focus on, so little is coming to see the light of days.

In the meantime the competition is overhauling their whole line up with better offerings and lowering the prices of their older products (something what’s fair to the customer).

We will probably see same form factor iMacs (with hopefully less bezel and bigger screens).

iPad mini with same form factor according to rumors (if true, it’s a scam).

Incremental updates to software (if dark mode is the defining upgrade to iOS)

At last AirPower probably too expensive for what it does.

And of course the long awaited macPro. The only thing special about that will be it’s price. You won’t have seen such an expensive piece of “art” ever before.

If Apple is able to introduce an iPhone se with an all screen front and same form factor at the same cost (of course better chip inside, more ram and better camera). It will be a hit.

But Apple won’t :(

That Mac Pro must come this year. My 2010 model can’t hold it any more.

You probably need to ask yourself if your workload absolutely depends on a Mac or could it be run on a PC. If its costing you money to keep running on a Mac then it's time to switch. It not, then perhaps you could upgrade the CPU, put in an SSD, etc, etc to get a bit more life out of it for now.

The Mac Pro already slipped a year. I remember there was an interview with Phil Schiller in the last quarter of 2017 where he said "Apple has never been more committed to it's pro customers" (LOL, OK Phil) and to expect a new Mac Pro in the first half of 2018... well, that never happened.

Perhaps Phil in his excitement accidentally slipped and said "more" in his quote when he really meant the opposite.

Apple seems to be heading a Scully & Gassée alike route again. The focus is now on services, subscriptions and fashion products while the world appears to be screaming for just useful gear like a powerful Mac Pro, a for business perfectly sized iPhone SE-2 and a non-crippled MacBook Pro with a real keyboard, ditching the touchbar. Instead, it's mostly about costly services and beautiful shiny high-tech with huge prices which do remember me of Gassée's favourite slogan "fifty-five or die!", referring to a minimum 55% profit margin. We probably all know the history of Apple back then, only to be rescued by the return of some guy with the name Steve Jobs (and a $150 million investment by Microsoft).

Pretty credible rumor from Bloomberg and one we've also heard from multiple sources. I can tweak the wording. Just FYI, everything in here is based on rumor as mentioned up top. Thanks for the feedback and the heads up on the Mac Pro error. :)
The same Bloomberg that reported the spy chips in Apple's hardware? :-D

Apple will also announce AR glasses in 2019. Stay tuned
And probably will introduce glassOS with it. Making that much different OS-es it’s not hard to see why we only see incremental updates every time. And blaming Android is fragmented  We have MacOS, tvOS, iOS, watchOS, how much fragmentation’s for niche products you want.

An iMac version of Microsoft surface studio 2. iPad's + Apple Pencil's excellent drawing ability expanded to an iMac size 5K screen that creators can draw on...*sigh*...one can only dream.

Would be an instant go-into-debt purchase for me.

oh, sorry...this thread is about discussing things that may happen. Not pipe dreams.

With the time they have taken, I really hope they get the Mac Pro right at the first try. Preferably in non iMac Pro way - I don't need the most expensive stuff (like Xeon processors) - just give me a well-balanced machine in a good case with user-upgrade memory (RAM and disk/SSD) and enough ports for all my peripherals. Basically: take the old cheese grater, make it a bit smaller, paint it black/space grey and call it the nicest Mac you every made.

Prediction: Apple car comes before Mac Pro :(
Applecar will never see the light of day. Seeing what Apple has done since 2012 I’ll never believe they’re able to disrupt the car industry let alone leapfrog any established car manufacturer as Tesla, Mercedes, bmw, VW and many others.

At the pace Apple is innovating and coming with a car to market. Most of us are flying spaceships to mars.

The whole MacMini/iMac/iMac Pro/Mac Pro line seems confused to me. The Mac mini was traditionally the budget option, that is no longer the case. What is the point of having an iMac Pro and Mac Pro. Why did the Mac Mini go four years without an update. Why did they partner with LG instead of continuing with their own monitors.

My guess is they never intended to update the Mac Pro, the iMac Pro at the top end and Mac mini at the low end were supposed to be its replacement. Then enough people complained that they felt they needed to respond.

Apple has turned into a fashion brand without meaningful fashion to show. The ‘Pro’ is just a fashion statement without any meaning and certainly not the meaning ‘Professional’.

The Apple News service is something I would want but I hope it could be cross platform like Apple Music. It doesn't sound like it would be, but I still would find it appealing to have one centralized way of aggregating and paying for content.

I would love a triple lens iPhone with the wide angle option, but unless they change their display specs, I can't buy it due to Apple's version of OLED giving me migraines. I can't see upgrading my Xr just to get a regular zooming second lens when I don't miss a second lens on it now. The second lens would have to be the wide angle one.

Mini 5 sounds good if the specs are good and not the cheapest and almost dated ones. I don't upgrade iPads often so I want them to have specs that stand up well to several iOS updates.

That's too many "ifs" for me to get excited about the forecasts at this point. But I appreciate that the forecasts have been provided.

Cameras with lasers. If you aren't excited each and every year and expect to be excited this year you really are in a self fulfilling pattern of obtuse revelations.
Obtuse? Confusing, random, annoying and slow for your use of the word. However, the math definition is an angle greater than 90 and less than 180 degrees. 420 might be an obtuse angle :)
People who use this word for behavior are likely university profs - me thinks.
AngerDanger might have something to say...

Even if Mac Pro is released, and that's a big if, probably the costs will be so inflated it will cost 20-30k by the time you are finished putting together all their modules. Do we even have updated NVIDIA drivers for Mojave yet?
