Upcoming HomePod 14.4 Software Update to Add New HomePod Mini U1 Features

I would like it if handoff worked with the Watch. I usually have music playing after a run, wave my hand over the HomePod before remembering it doesn’t work and start looking for my phone to start the more cumbersome process of starting whatever I was listening to from there

Now that is a good suggestion, did you actually make it to apple on Feedback? I guess if I worked at Apple, I would read these, but it does help to actually submit a suggestion (I know when I report issues on the Beta, they follow up with me, sometimes for more data, sometimes to ask me if it is resolved, and they have put into production some of the suggestions I [and probably others] have made). I presume Apple Watch has the NFC because it works well for Apple Pay.

OG HOmepod? handoff does work on the original HomePod, works great

I wish they would add the ability to do the "infinite shuffle" mode where it keeps playing related music when a selected song ends.

tvOS 14.2 added this functionality, where you can set the default output to a HomePod. At least for the original HomePod, not sure about the minis

I'd like to see an update to the normal HomePod with 802.11ax and the U1 chip. I am about to move all the devices on my network over to 802.11ax and it will be the only outlier.

Oh sorry. I used the button in the sense it’s labelled on this forum: ‘disagree’
(as in, I disagree that “Handoff doesn’t work on the OG HomePod”).

huh I never knew this. I also can’t get it work.
works fine with my mini but a big day nope of the big one. To be honest even with the mini I tend to just use the phone to control it anyway.

U1 chip required, so ah, no. Handoff in general still works great though

ah, wasnt sure if the HomePod has the chip or not. Couldnt remember. Looks like its due for an update then.

I was amused today when I got the Homepod Mini to handoff to my iPhone then handoff to the original Homepod and back again! Just like magic!
