Might not even have MagSafe. Just 2 TB4 ports, same screen tech, support for 1 monitor. If that is the case, I will pass on the 15, even as a prosumer.

Why would you not include Pro-Motion on a new MacBook Air? However I’m overly excited to see the new colors :)

Same reason why non pro iPhones don’t have it sadly

I would instant buy a 15 inch MacBook Air. Want to update my mid 2014 MBP, but I don't need the pro price point but want the same display size.

even on M2?
The hardware doesn't exist yet so it's not possible to say. The chips will get more and more powerful, so it will probably come in time. Some machines driving a 4K display several years ago would have been an achievement, now it's virtually taken for granted.

On M2, not convinced we'll see this chip for a while yet. If Apple have released the Pro, Max, and Ultra variants of the chip, they'll be unlikely to advance the numbering so that they don't make these chips seem out of date.

Bring back the MBA 11”, I still have my 2011 model and it still runs good.

This. As much as I tried to love my iPad/iPad Air, there's just something about an actual keyboard/trackpad that just makes it work better for me - perfect for traveling, couchsurfing etc.

My source tells me that this is macBook. There will not be a 13" MacBook Pro or a macBook air. There will only be an M2 macBook at 13" and an M2 macBook at 15".

I wish they’d just let us spec everything a la carte when we order online. I want a MacBook with a nice display, but I don’t want it to be thick and heavy and have 5 extra ports I don’t need.

I'm trying to remember, has there ever been a case of Apple releasing a new version of a product, then introducing a larger (but otherwise design-identical) version later? iPhones introduced two screen sizes with the same new model (6 and 6 Plus), iPad Pro started out with the larger version, then added a smaller one later on.

As someone who will buy the new MBA, whatever the screen size, but really wants a 15-inch if it ever becomes available, I'm wondering how likely it is that I'll update this fall for a totally new design (and chip), then be tempted to again next fall just for the screen size bump?

Erm, no.. we should go with metric measurements like the rest of the world. Even the article is confusing when we're talking about "15 Inch" displays being different sizes. if we measured in CM we'd know the true size (and people from outside the US would understand it easier).
In Europe most electronics are still marketed using inches, though post-purchase consumers often switch to metric. So a tv in the shop is " Samsung model blah 75" while someone reselling the TV might list it at "190 mm ecran".

Yes please, a 15"+ screen lower powered MacBook with 20 hrs battery life.
No need power, just need battery life!

Also a fan might be good for longevity when software becomes inevitably more demanding and the machine runs hotter after 5 years of usage. However, not big of a deal.

Please apple, I want to replace my 15" MacBook Pro 2015.
