You might want to get an Ampharos or a Lanturn from gen 2 though. It will be useful for a plethora of water types in gen 1.Hopefully I'll be able to turn gen 2 off if they do add it to the app. Never cared for any other than 1st gen.
I have noticed that even though I'm only level 18 my Pokémon are just as good if not better than most people in my area who are levels 20-26. I've got a good feeling when I finally get to max level my Pokémon are going to wreck all those people who pay for the app.
Not as popular as the use of 'bs'. That's for sure. Seriously, a lot of people have missed the point of this game. It's not your go-to action game or strategy game. It's not the main pokemon game. But it's a blown up version of a rewarding feature of running app. Look at the Apple watch. What does it give after completing some fitness activities? It gives a badge which does nothing. Pokemon Go gives pokemon so you can use it to battle. It's a lot more fun than just looking at the badge. How popular is this bs presently.
So much this. The game is almost perfectly designed to make people give up the higher they go.
It's fracking amazing more people aren't dead because of playing this game like idiot zombies. So glad it's mostly died out, I can drive thru parks at a normal level of vigilance, again.I played a lot during the summer until bad humidity swept in for weeks. Once I was so intent on catching a Pokemon during a round of mini golf that when a real live possum scrambled out of the bushes on the course, I got confused for a moment and almost chucked my IPhone SE at him!![]()
Your Pokemon won't be any better than anyone else's in terms of how strong they'll be in the end just because you're finding that beating level 20-26 people at your current level is "easy". There's many factors as to why you can beat higher level Pokemon and trainers, and with enough resources to grind down a gym and all the Pokemon inside, it can be done. Have you beaten a dragonite or gyarados with a pidgey? Probably not, because that would be the wrong Pokemon to use in that situation. Have you used, say, a starmie vs a magmar? Or any water vs fire type Pokemon? Even with lower CP, the water-type has an advantage to potentially win, not because you caught a special Pokemon. It all comes down to strategy and your Pokemon's moves.
On another note, I want trading more than anything. I had about 10 Kangaskhans just sitting there so I traded them in for candies.
May be that Vaporeon is not at max level (for that trainer level). This is late but yeah, I know that different types are effective against other types. I'm saying people do not check their pokemons stats and evolve Pokémon that shouldn't be evolved. I know all trainers of the same levels can catch the same pokemon with the same stats. Trainers in my area seem to evolve any Pokémon they get. I'm 19 with a 1454 vaporeon and I see level 25 with 1400 vaporeon in gyms. Not saying I'm doing anything special, I just don't evolve junk like others in my area.
Yeah that's smart. I've done a bit of research in regard to Pokemon Individual Values in the game, and it's those stats that give you the better overall pokemon. It's like seeing a 500CP Bulbasaur and a 600CP Ivysaur - most people would evolve the Ivysaur just because they'll get a Venusaur. If you work a bit harder and evolve your Bulb first, you'll end up with a much better Venusaur. This is late but yeah, I know that different types are effective against other types. Yes, that's my point. People in my area just want to have the last evolution stage no matter how weak it actually isMay be that Vaporeon is not at max level (for that trainer level).
It seems you misunderstand the concept. I don't want to sound like a pokemaniac in Macrumors but here goes. The way to determine how strong a pokemon will be at maximum possible level is IV. It's like you were born with a lot of height genes and you end up being taller than your older brother who received less height genes. Of course, during your childhood you were shorter than your brother because your age (level) was lower.Yes, that's my point. I never argued any of that, sorry if you think you need to explain because you don't really need to. I understand IVs and I understand that CP isn't everything. I use IV calculators and such and I think that may be why my lower level Pokémon do well against higher level Pokémon. The vaporeon I shouldn't have used as an example by just comparing cp. It does do well against higher cp vaporeon though and I assume that's because it has good IVs.It seems you misunderstand the concept. When I said "that Vaporeon might not be at max level", I mean that it could be one of those high-IV-low-level pokemon. The trainer might not have enough stardust to power it up right now and don't care about showing off high cp mon in the gym (it will get kicked out eventually anyway).
I hope this is clear enough.
There are plenty of Pokémon in this generation, I just never see anything other than pidgeys, clefairy, eevee and the most difficult to catch of all, in my experience, weedle.I feel the same way. Level 29 and I have my top 10 Pokemon Maxed out. A lot better then some of the level 30s and higher. I am excited for the second generation Pokemon though! It will just be more Pokemon to find and level up!
