Actually, Ingress has a lot more substance than Pokemon GO - it has real depth, with layers of strategy. The design of the gameplay is fairly brilliant. It's like a sport for nerds. It never made much money, because for a long time there wasn't even anything available to buy in-game, but it got them the mapping data they needed in order to make PoGo and the upcoming Harry Potter game.
