Upcoming Shooter 'Neon Shadow' Uses Split Screen for Single iPad Multiplayer

The upcoming cyperpunk-themed first-person shooter Neon Shadow includes a unique multiplayer mode that allows two users to play on a single iPad, according to our sister-site TouchArcade.

That's not the crazy part though, as Crescent Moon and Tasty Poison have worked together previously on the truly excellent Pocket RPG [$4.99]. No, the crazy thing is that Neon Shadow will feature a same-device co-op multiplayer mode on the iPad, and to my knowledge that's the first time an FPS has done such a thing on iOS. Seriously, check out how it works in this new video of Neon Shadow.

There is no information on pricing, but Neon Shadow is expected by the end of summer.

This would never work with me. I'd constantly be ripping the iPad out of the hands of the other player. Well, at least flinching and messing up the other player.

One of the first games I played for the iPhone was an air hockey game that let 2 players defend their own goal.

But I guess this is two separate huds and whatnot

This doesnt seem like it will go as planned. People will probably get "intense" or jumpy and in the way they handle the controls they could easily disturb the other player.

Hope it will also have single player mode and coop mode on multiple devices.

First for an FPS, as far as we can tell, and it's been said many, many times that we do not take paid placement and if we did, it would be disclosed.

wow, had been missing this for a while. we need more games like this, you cant the pleasure of playing a multiplayer game on a single device from playing a multiplayer game on two different devices.
