Update Apple ID settings hangs - stuck

I'm selling an old AW7 today. Attached the watch to the account, checked it over and then removed it. Now my iPhone asked me to sign into iCloud again under "Update Apple ID Settings". Of course it just hangs here eternally and never signs in.

Any ideas?

This is a little worrying.

I've restarted the phone and used two different networks.

And just like that it stopped asking.
