I always use the iPad charger on my phones so I don't really notice the charging times being any slower than when I got it on the 19th.

Thought it was just me but my 6plus was getting epic battery life when I first got it but over the last few updates still good but not nearly the same by the end of the day.

I have had my 6+ for a few weeks on iOS 8.0 and skipped the 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 updates. The phone worked fantastically and had awesome battery life. Updated to 8.1 yesterday thinking surely the kinks must be ironed out by now, but it looks like my phone's battery life and charging ability have taken a HUGE hit!!! Faster drain, incredibly slow charging. 8.1 ruined my new iPhone. What can I do? Can an Apple Store do anything for me? I did an encrypted backup before upgrading from 8.0 to 8.1. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Edit: the phone is also running quite a bit hotter.

I can't say I've really noticed any significant change in battery life or charging times. But I guess it's possible some of the new technologies Apple has unlocked in this update could have an impact. I also haven't opted into the iCloud Photo Library beta which may be hurting some people at this stage. It is a beta after all.

What were you battery stats before and after you updated to 8.1.

What was the usage with a full charge?

Thanks to everyone for your responses. As some of you said, giving it a day to settle down and restarting a couple of times seems to have completely resolved the issue. Battery is back to normal and the phone no longer runs hot. I'll try to edit my original post to reflect this.

I'm curious to know if you did anything more than just waiting and restarting...

I have an IP6 with The exact same problem, I've tried almost anything that sounds logic and must of what I've been reading: waiting to settle down, restarting, resetting network settings, checking background refresh, location, etc... My phone still drains out of battery in about 4-6 hours and runs pretty hot. Any guesses?

I posted in one of the other threads but I have about 6 hours less usage and almost a day less standby time with ios 8.1. it really sucks
