Hihi,

So, I'm mostly an Android-girl; that said, I just found my old iPad from 2011, and would like to get it in shape.

It currently has 5.0.1 on it, and is jailbroken. What's the best way to get to a JB'd 9.3.5?

Should I just let iTunes update it, and re-jailbreak it once I'm up-to-date? Would iTunes encounter any issues when updating it, given that it's Jailbroken? Will I have any issues jailbreaking it again once updated?

Is there a better methodology?

Do I need to do any SHSH blob backup BS before I do so? Is there any need to these days? I haven't used iOS in a lonnnnng time, so I have no idea what best practices look like these days.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Yes, stay away from it. There are many fake sites promising jailbreak, so be careful.

Okay, thanks. I hadn't looked too hard at it yet.

So, then, given my current state, is there a safe way to update past the 5.0.1 I'm currently on to anything more recent, and maintain my jailbreak / rejailbreak? If so, what version and how?

No, nothing you can do about it. You can only restore to 9.3.5 and that's it.

Alright, so to be clear, my two options are to stick on 5.0.1 jailbroken, or update to 9.3.5 and lose the jailbreak, right?

I can't update to a different, jailbreakable version because I'd need to have SHSH blobs from while Apple was still signing said version, right?

Could I backup SHSH blobs or whatever from my 5.0.1 so I could restore back to this if I decide I want to try out 9.3.5 w/o jailbreak and then decide to I want to revert?

Yes

No, SHSH blobs are useless, starting from IOS 6, if I can remember correctly.

Probably....maybe someone else could give you a better answer. It was so long ago :)

Alright; I'll stick where I'm at and think it through.

Is there any hope on the horizon for 9.3.5? I see it was released 9 months ago... :/

there's no jb for 9.3.5 yet. Fried Apple Team have demoed one at a conference but haven't released it yet.
