My M1 ipad pro is on ipados 26. No issues with performance or battery life.Been reading posts and am mixed on whether to update iOS 18 to 26. Anyone have any input on a 5th gen iPad Pro? Pros/cons. iOS 18 has been quite smooth.
Same here, 12.9” M1 iPP.My M1 ipad pro is on ipados 26. No issues with performance or battery life.
It was the same on iPhone but think that was fixed in 26.2Owner of iPad M1 12.9. I have no major battery or performance issues so far.
The only performance-related issue is how there's a pause every time I open the app switcher, but I heard that even new iPads have that on iOS 26. It's probably some unnecessary animation Apple added.
Interesting! I am still on iOS 26.1, so maybe 26.2 can help with that. Reduce transparency may also help. Thank you.It was the same on iPhone but think that was fixed in 26.2
Running 26.2.1 on the iPad and can't recreate the pause so might be fixed. Think it was more obvious if you had enabled reduce transparency or are running "low battery mode".
I’ve bolded your answer to your question. Unless there are v26.n features you need or want, why fix what apparently is not at all broken? Yes, lots of posters have moved to v26.n and state no issues, but also many posters (and entire threads) are devoted to glitches, bugs, and undesirable UI constructs. Read through some of those, determine if the problems will adversely affect what you do, and act accordingly.Been reading posts and am mixed on whether to update iOS 18 to 26. Totes agreement here. We mistakenly succumbed to the incessant reminders to upgrade on one of our iPhone13minis and have regretted it since. Our other one remains on v18.7.2 which is as far as it can go. We’ve also kept our two iPads on v18.7.3, as far as they can go. Having seen and experienced v26 on one of our own devices has convinced us to remain on v18 for now. If there is any upside to our fast-fingering mistake it is that we can do A-B comparisons between v18 and v26. We understand v26 works well for many, though we’d prefer to avoid what we’ve seen on our other 3 devices.I truly can't imagine willingly going from iOS/iPadOS 18 to 26 right now.
Why. To me/us iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 is very nice at 26.3. Maybe doesn’t work the same in every iPhone or iPad combo, but on my household devices, works well.I truly can't imagine willingly going from iOS/iPadOS 18 to 26 right now.
So have you updated? If so, whats your experience?Been reading posts and am mixed on whether to update iOS 18 to 26. Anyone have any input on a 5th gen iPad Pro? Pros/cons. iOS 18 has been quite smooth.
