aloha all, i'm a frequent browser here in the touch forum... always curious to see what others are doing. i bought my 6th gen refurbished (still running iOS 9.3.5) from apple in dec 2016 - after being pleased with prior generations of touches.

i, like virtually everyone else here, have been acutely aware of the poor battery pairing on the 6th gen. i have used all of my touches solely for periodic music playback in airplane mode. so as you can imagine, i can go a week or more between charges. with my old 4th gen, i routinely went more than one month between charges! however, recently, my 6th gen's charge has been nosediving. and it made me wonder...

how well does the 6th gen respond to being in lower power mode? if the touch is already in airplane mode, screen dim, no games, etc, etc, would being in lower power mode provide any more benefit to extending the battery's charge?

thanks in advance for any opinions!

Sorry ayres, the iPod Touch does not get low power mode even under iOS 11. I would stay on iOS 9 if I were you. My iPod is on iOS 10 and I prefer iOS 11.

oh, wow! ya learn something new every day. Thanks for pointing that out. i guess i'm sticking with iOS 9!
