MP 1,1-5,1 Update MacPro 1.1 to macPro 2.1: any improvements without changing CPUs?

I have a MacPro 1.1 and I'd like to know if there's any improvement only updating FW with 2.1, without change CPU.

Yes it's also a bit cooler the CPU. And you can run El Capitan - also works fine with replaceing the GeForce 7300 GT with the Radeon HD 5770 from a 2010 MP

you can run el capitan with the 1.1 Firmware as well ;-)

Yeah also works, you see no realy difference between 2,1 and 1,1. 2,1 does have a higher default fan RPM for the 3.0 Quadcore CPUs to cool them better down instead of the Dualcore. So by the way you can also use SMC Fancontrol to speed them up a little bit more.

For now I have no plans to upgrade RAM or CPU, so I'd like to know if there's any improvement updating FW without changing CPU or adding RAM.

So the actual CPU will be cooler? Is it because the FAN runs faster?

I have done it at my 1,1 to 2,1. When you mean upgrade to 2,1 it's only the EFI what identifies the Mac as 2,1. SMC update is separately for the fans. CPUs and RAM can you get very cheap at AliExpress.com. Also matched pairs Xeons.

Ok, so It seems that the EFI update could be useful to fix stability, even if I don't buy 4 core processors or more RAM. I'm from Italy so I have some difficulties to understand all the words from the video! Sorry!
