Select Automatic Fetch, and voilà!

Gmail pushes new mail, syncs read/unread status, easy breezy!

So happy!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Fingers crossed it stays that way

P.S. On another note, Apple still can't auto-clear app badges for their stupid iCloud accounts

LOL.. for real? I feel like we go through this every year after new iOS releases.

Yeah, iCloud mail sucks in that with multiple devices the read and delete statuses don’t sync until you open the mail app.

Just tested it

Fingers crossed it stays that way

😡😡😡😡😡
So there's an actual push option for Gmail accounts?

No, there isn't, you just select Automatic Fetch, and it pushes new mail and syncs read/unread status, just like on Mac, where it has worked since day one.

Never mind, it stopped working

The "Automatic" setting has allowed for push Gmail in the native Mail app, when the device is connected to power and on WiFi, for awhile now

That's basically it. Doesn't really appear that there's anything new there.
