I’m using beta versions since iOS 17 on my main phone. Never had such issues. Are they releasing buggy versions after allowing millions of users to test for long time?

No one mentioned or reported about touch screen issues on Watch? Seems there was a watchOS release too, which fixed the said touch screen issues.

Good to know about the changes with the update. But planning to directly update to iOS 18.1 later this month.

The new update didn’t fix the touch screen issues, lag or camera bugs for me and my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Camera will freeze during video recording, stop a video recording long before I want to stop it and the camera app will sometimes close unexpectedly. My 16 Pro Max has also completely shut off and become unresponsive twice since I’ve had it. It will eventually reboot, but seems to have a mind of its own. Never had any issues with my 15 Pro Max. Beyond frustrated.

same with my 16 pro.
i can tell when it's about to become un-usable as it starts to lag, eventually grinding to a halt.

at the moment i'm having to manually reboot the phone every 2 days or so just to make sure it's always in a useable state.

I wish I never upgraded to 18, my iPhone 15 Pro battery life is freaking terrible!
I wish 16 Pro Max would come with 17.7 out of the box.

I think that’s what Apple should do every year. Release new iPhone with most stable version on a board, and then just give an option to upgrade.

18.01 didn’t fix a lot of the issues on the iPhone 16 Pro Max in my opinion. Lag, camera crashing daily requiring a reboot, MagSafe slow charging behavior, overheating issues causing the screen to dim or stop wireless charging when not even really stressing the device that I’ve experienced and many others have reported in several forums. I just went ahead and took the plunge and installed the 18.1 public beta. The iPhone seems to work much better now. I think apple has put everything into 18.1 plus this apple intelligence thing is pretty cool.
