I just placed an order for the 2.4ghz MBP new through Amazon. I got 150 dollars off and I get the satisfaction of opening a new computer. Now the real wait starts. Hope it comes quick. Delivery estimate of 9/17-9/21. I got the free super savings shipping. Amazon in my experience has shipped really quickly. Thanks to everyone who gave input. I will definitely post pictures when I get it. This will be my second Mac notebook and am looking forward to it.

OK no need for sarcasm. I made many threads about this purchase and I just wanted to say that I placed an order. Did making that obnoxious post make you feel better? If you didn't care about my purchase then don't post in the thread.

I think the forum rules need to be more restrictive, say after 30 days of a new product release, no more pictures of product unboxing. We have seen it all. All announcements of purchases are kept in the same thread.

Maybe all new members registered 6 months or less are kept as "newbies", and are restricted to the "Babble" thread. That way they can get everything out of their system.

Woah mate, I don't think Mad Jew was trying to be "obnoxious", sounds like he was simply being light hearted to me. How can you tell he's being sarcastic, it seems more likely that he's happy that another person has made the correct choice and bought a top quality piece of Apple hardware. :D

You serious sblasl? I was really looking forward to posting my setup pics when my new 17" MBP Hi-Res arrives in less than 2 weeks. It isn't the fact that you're being shown new hardware, it's that you're seeing the hardware in different locations and setups. It also adds something personal to the buying process and most importantly it feels like a ritual to all new Mac owners so that they "officially" become part of the Mac fold.

I'm with you Cybergypsy, I can't wait to post mine and I will always be eager to view other people's new setups. :)

mad jew, if you werent trying to be obnoxious then I appologize. Your statement seemed sarcastic. Sblasl, you can't tell me that you weren't excited when you ordered a new machine. And i think that your comment about people with less than six months under their belt is a little stuck up. Just because you have been here longer than me doesn't mean that I don't have significant input to put into threads.

Congratulations! I hope you're pleased with it, they're certainly very powerful notebooks.

I have to agree. I couldn't hold back posting my first Mac when I got it. Come to think of it, I've posted pictures of some of my iMac's too. I figure it's best to get it all out of your system on MR than bore your friends to death ;) Or, you can do that too! :)
