Tried installing 10.7, it hung up on the pre-install check with the candy-striped progress bar, for hours.

I decided to shut down and unplug everything connected to the card. --Everything went fine

Once in 10.7, I reinstalled the drivers off the highpoint site, I'm not sure what's included in 10.7 but the WebGUI certainly isn't.

So just a word of warning. Also: one of my 9bajillion peripherals (no clue which) caused the installer to beachball, so if you see beachballs unplug everything USB but the keyboard and mouse.

edit:
also something weird: I had to force the comp to shutdown 3-4 times while I was figuring this out, apparently this created some kind of an "error" on my SSD drive which the 10.7 installer wouldn't work with and I had to format and reinstall 10.6 before updating. It worked fine after that.

No need to install the RR 2314 drivers, they are integrated in Lion.
When I reinstalled SL 10.6.8 the other day, I noticed that even Snow Leopard has them.

So all you have to install is the WebGUI.

BTW: It is advised to unplug all peripherals when installing anyway.
