"Update payment info never actually updates".

So in my system preferences I have a notification to update my payment information. It's only used for Apple Music. I put in the appropriate information and click "done" but the notification badge never goes away. Why is this happening? Is this some kind of bug? Even on Apple Music on iOS it will tell me to update but I can fully use the app.

Okay so I posted this back in March 2025 and I'm still having this issue. Any advice?? The only way I was finally able to remove my payment info was to cancel my Apple Music subscription because it's tied to my payment method instead of my Apple ID. In any case the indicator is still there.
