The app store says that there is an update to iPhoto. I try to update it and I'm asked to "sign in" to an account. Duh? Where? I'm already signed into my mac account.

I went to my iCloud account and signed in there. Why can't i just update my account without figuring out what account Apple wants me to sign into and where to find the sign in?

Unless you manage multiple IDs, then its common knowledge really, that you use the MAS just like you'd do with iTunes, that is, you need to login to the AppStore with your ID and every time you update an app it will ask for your apple ID.
