The wifi issues that I had on my 5S were maddening. I'm using a 6 now; sold the 5S. I wish I hadn't upgraded the 5S.

Well the only downside is the chance of bugs. I still say go for it and update.

All OS's have bugs. iOS 8.0.2 is decent, while some see/experience the bugs more than others. Only way to find out if your experience will be bug ridden or not is to upgrade.

I have had no real bug issues with iOS GMs with my iPhone 5. I think I've just been lucky or I have a high tolerance for software glitches...

While there is definitely a valid/formal bug list in iOS 8.0.2 not all will experience the bugs, and a lot of people that do, wont know they're truly bugs like others so they claim "that particular bug doesn't happen for them" but it likely does, they just don't know it.
