Yes, that's interesting and thanks for the link. Unfortunately, with the Shuffle still only 1Gb, it's still not going to be as useful as I hoped. (I might still get one though)

Just think of what Apple could do if they designed something like this, but all in one piece. They could make it sleeker, but still have double the battery space of the Shuffle. 4Gb cordless headphones with built in player and 24 hour battery would be easily doable and exactly what I'm looking for. Sound would be way better than is possible with earbuds too.

Personally I prefer the old colours - nice and vibrant!
I don't think my 1G is obsolete though! I'm surprised that the tech has remained much the same.

Kudos for trying to the good people at Monster, but don't you think that would both look and feel a little...odd?? I'm not sure how to make it better, though. You have to put the little guy somewhere.

And am I the only one that thinks the screen on the Nano is a little small? Maybe I'm getting old, but I can't imagine watching something that little for more than a few minutes. Still, even forgetting the video altogether, 4GB at that size with a color menu is pretty tempting, and a much better value than a repainted Shuffle.

Maaan, I'm not only getting old, I'm getting naive too. I thought that was supposed to work the other way around .

Only if you don't get the joke. You'd want a small screen so the boss couldn't see you watching ipod movies rather than working...

Back to topic - Apple store still had nothing new last, so couldn't tell how bad the new shuffle colors are. But on the bright side, you still could have gotten an orange one... :)

I ordered the iPod shuffle-lavender on Wednesday, I used to have a 1G 1gb shuffle, but it kept getting corrupted, requiring a system restore, and it was making me mad in some ways (too long, bulky, wires/lanyard got tangled all the time!/clip off revealing usb connector seemed tacky/white was getting old). I had decided to wait to buy a new iPod until maybe late this year, perhaps a video (this was before the new ones came out), but the minute I saw the new iPod shuffle in my favorite color lavender, I had to buy it!

Besides, who would want to steal a shuffle? And also, this is an iPod I'll take anywhere, and not worry about scratches to a screen. I do plan on buying the new nano (or classic) sometime next year to watch video/hold my growing music library..
