Just noticed that the new and improved MacBook is available on the UK Apple Store this morning. Was this done earlier this week, or is it a sneaky release today?

If so, no-one saw that coming!

I see there is still no Blu-Ray drive.

    Ahh!
You didn't grab a screen shot?
    Was it aluminum?
    Remember any specs?
    Price?

You would be a hero to most of the forum if you would have grabbed a screen shot...

    Gah..

    Okay..
I'm just going to wait patiently for the store to open.
    :p

oh wow, Apple store US is down. This would be a surprise if they updated the laptops (and maybe even the mini) on a Friday.

Ok - perhaps I got it wrong. As the name implies. I am an AppleVirgin

and I don't know all the ins and outs of traditional release dates etc.

Here is the link the to the screen http://store.apple.com/uk

Middle right of the screen says "Introducing the faster MacBook - Speeds up to 2.4 Ghz"

Perhaps that has been there for months and I hadn't noticed!

    Is that any faster?

i think it has been there for some time. im not completely sure either. but something that they should try doing is to update the whole site. lots of pages still have .Mac. also the iMac tech spec doesnt even have the 3.06ghz or the new nVidia cards on it...

I was excited when a read the topic title... but then.... The 2.4 Ghz Macbook has been out since February of this year... But still, why is the Apple Store down?? just because of the 3G iPhone??

I would have to say yes. I can't wait til this iPhone hoopla blows over...it is getting really old hearing all about it, apps, pricing, etc. But that's me.

I'm pretty sure that such an occurrence would be on the front page of Mac Rumors. :apple:
