apparently someone pointed out that the new imacs use 800mhz ram instead of the older ones. does anyone know if you can still use the older ram for the new imacs?

As long as you put in SO-DIMM DDR2 RAM, it should work in the new iMacs. The timing for the memory bus will automatically be adjusted to the speed your RAM supports, so it'll run a bit slower with 667 MHz. You can even mix 800 MHz and 667 MHz RAM, but access will always adjusted for the slowest RAM chip installed.
