Well props to the OP for finally getting the product he paid for.

But, like others have said, I have no idea why people would pay that much money for a custom painted laptop that looks worse than the original.

why is the front the normal silver in this photo,
but in the others it's black?

Its the lighting.

Nice work OP. I'm all for customizing Macs to look unique, it adds some more fun to something you'll be using so often. Also, its a great conversation starter!

Looks good but personally I would prefer a matte black over the glossy and the trackpad is so distracting I don't think I could live with that.

Hey, Yea as many other people have noticed over here the trackpad was not colored. The company colorware pc actually does not color them.

When i purchased this laptop from their website, i also purchased a black trackpad cover for the macbook pro from another company for $3.00 . However once i got the laptop, i actually didnt mind the grey trackpad and just havent put it on.

Also another note for anyone who is interested in using colorware. Something you cant see from the photos and youtube video is the texture and feel of the matte black and shiny black.

The shiny black is probably just how it looks, very reflective, very smooth and surprisingly doesn't get fingerprints as much as i would of thought it had. It really makes the white apple logo stand out.

The matte black is something i couldnt figure out from their website or photos, but its really soft, feels really nice to rest my palms on. Very different from my previous 1st gen intel mbp. Its pretty hard to describe this texture, but it feels natural. Almost as if the body was made this way from the manufacturer.

While i love the way my laptop looks now, i am just not sure if i would have done a glossy exterior or used the matte colors all around. For other people who are interested in getting anything modded from colorware definitely consider their matte colors over their glossy colors. While glossy looks great, the matte just feels amazing and looks natural.

Just curious, when did you get your MBP done at ColorwarePC? I just checked the website and they allow you to configure the trackpad to be any color you want. I do understand that they probably can't paint the glass but it is there to configure any color you want the trackpad to be.

Oh yea i guess they just added that option, sadly when i ordered in May it wasn't there.

Not so sure I would have gone with glossy shiny glitzy paint. Black matte would have made it look real classy I think.

Just a question in regards to the matte black you chose for your body. Is it the Carbon (metallic) Matte or the Jet Black (solid) Matte?

Does anyone know which looks better on the MBP?

I know you made this post a long time ago but I was wondering if you could update as to how the paint held up over time? I'm considering buying from colorware but am weary about how the laptop will look after a few years of use.

I like it. Hope you never have any warranty work done. It'd suck to have your display replaced or something along those lines.

I'm glad they fixed it. It looks nice. I wish they did the trackpad but it's no biggie. You can truly say you have 1 of a kind! :apple: ;)

Why on earth would you pay someone money to paint your laptop?? I can't even begin to fathom why anyone would do that. Is it just the all-consuming need to be "different" or do you really think that a black MBP looks so much better than a silver one?

Why some people spend thousands in collecting stamps, which are useless? Because they want. Stop thinking other people thinks like you.

Btw, iPhone in champagne colour had great sellings, maybe people want different colors instead of always the same aluminum one, which has been there for almost a decade?
