Nice find! Just ordered this and haven't even made it to the Apple Store yet to get my iMac

Same here... and with the Magic Trackpad I got for $50 from a guy who used it twice but didn't like it, I will be set when I finally pull the trigger.

Thanks OP for sharing!:D

Thanks OP!

I just purchased the 8GB RAM for the 27 inch iMac that I just ordered online today.

Cool-I'll be bumped up to 12 GB RAM. Good bargain.

I think I'm a back-to-school incentive away from ordering the base 21.5" model. One of these would max out its RAM for about $115 cheaper than Apple offers, right?

And if I were tempted to instead go with the upgraded 21.5" and max out a 16G of memory, I'd buy how many of these?

Sorry for the rudimentary questions ... my last computer purchase was 8 years ago and I went BTO, so I never really paid attention to these sort of details before.

well it comes with four ram slots. Two which are use by apple ram which are 2 gbs a piece. So if you took those out then you would buy 4 X 4 GB (two sets) for a total of 16. that is maxed out (you could actually fit 32gb). I would recommend just buying a set (2 X 4 GB) leaving the two already installed in there for a total of 12 GB.

$70 for a total of 12 GB with the 4 that it comes with or
$140 for 16 GB (you have to take out the stock ram) so you'll have 4 GB extra.

Hope this helps and not confuse you more.

You would need to purchase 2 of these kits to get 16gb (you'd replace the original 2 x 2gb filling all 4 slots with 4gb sticks). However, if you just buy one kit, you will have 12gb, and that is still a very good amount that is plenty for most people.

Got it, guys — thanks. I was confused about the 2x2, 2x4 and 4x4 specs.

Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and ordered 16gb right off the bat. Now all I have to do is order the iMac during the Back to School Sale.

Actually went back to grab another 8gb just because this is just a good deal, and they are all sold out

EDIT: Just kidding, they updated their stock/added more for us to order.

I would suggest jumping on this deal...they will run out of this RAM - it is VERY highly rated plus lifetime warranty to boot!

Appears to be back in stock as I just got it w/ free 2 day shipping. $64.99 for 8 GB.

Thats what I did, I already received my RAM also. Just gotta buy the imac now.

I'm glad this came back in stock. I ordered one set already and immediately regretted not getting a second to bump my memory to 16GB. I have absolutely no need for that much memory (at least not right now), but for the price I just couldn't pass it up.

I'm oissed because I bought ram, 8 bg (2x4gb) to out in my new iMac...then had to return my iMac. Now I have to eBay the damn ram.

Point is, make sure you are happy before you buy more ram!

No worries here; if I decide to return my yet-to-be-shipped iMac, I'll just put the new RAM in my old iMac.

Updated sale for July 4 Holiday - see the 1st post for the new link and promo code...this is $15 cheaper than it was 1 month ago on sale and $33 cheaper than it was at the beginning of May!

Works great - no issues since installing it...so cheap, I might just buy another 8GB and pull the 4GB that came with the thing to get to 16GB overall

Will this work on my 2011 baseline iMac? This deal is too hard to pass! I'm still waiting on my iMac to ship. This will also increase the resale value of my Mac.

Arrrrrggghh!! Just tried today and looks like they are out of stock.

Great tip OP! Thanks a ton. The upgrade from 4 to 12gigs helps alot with my workflow, last year I think I gave $150+ for 8 gigs, so nice to see ram even at the $69.99 level.

Guess I'll try again later.

They will get more in stock...just keep trying - it was like that the last time, kept on going in and out of stock
