It's all speculation. Can't hurt to wait until afterwords to make a purchase, though! (I'm hoping too, though I'm not banking on it)

How lame. I have a unibody 2.0ghz macbook and hearing this pisses me off. I bought this beacause it had better specs then the previous macbooks(white, black). I mean, the unibodies were the upgraded versions of the macbook and now the white(previous) macbook gets an upgrade that surpasses the UPGRADED unibody macbook?
That's exactly why I'm waiting for WWDC. I hate waiting, but I'd rather wait and be satisfied than rush and make an impulsive buy that'd I'd regret later. It's really not that long a wait, and I'd hate to think I could have gotten more bang for my buck if I'd only waited.
There hasn't been one release or update to a mac laptop in June since 2007. Don't hold your breath.![]()
The aluminum macbooks are and have been overpriced. Their release made it clear that Apple doesn't care about reasonable prices and would rather focus on marketing a "cool" product at this point. Maybe they'll announce new pricing at WWDC? I'm purchasing my white macbook after WWDC and can't wait!
I don't expect anything to happen to the Macbooks though.
But, they can't possibly keep the low-end unibody MacBook the way it is - being outperformed and outspec'd by a $300 cheaper model.
They could for a short time period. Maybe to introduce the tablet everybody's been talking about to replace the white MB?!!
That's SO yesterday, AlBook has FW800WhiteBook has FireWire the AlBook does not, so the latter is slower to back up and transfer files, and you lost Target Disk Mode.
