As I was attempting to use Bootcamp assistant , I was told to upgrade my system (I used bootcamp with the existing system quite easily just days back). As I was upgrading the mac os to 10.5.4 with installation (total 560MB), I saw after about 250 or so MB download my macbook asked me to restart it for installation. I did accordingly. But installation bar stops at 1 cm.I tried hard reboot, still the same. Any body faced similar problem?

Specs of my computer: mac book 13.3
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

4GB memory, HD 160GB, super drive.

Were you using Software Update to download the Leopard update? That might be a source of problem.. Not your fault, but Software Update fails in a weird way when the update files are not downloaded completely, say due to network problems.

Anyhow, try getting the Combo Leopard 10.5.4 update, from:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1054comboupdate.html

From my experience, getting the Combo Update is a more reliable way to update Mac OS X.

update does not solve bootcamp problem

even after updating everything (os to 10.5.4), java , still the botcamp playing the same record 'You must update your system software before using this setup assistant.' What does it actually want? please help me someone
