I'm not certain how to update third party applications, say azureus 2.5 to 3.0. Do you uninstall the earlier version and associated files to make way for the new, or do you install the new version "on top of" the old one? Actually, I've the same question for mac applications, too. I have Pages, and am wondering how to go about installing an update, if one ever comes out.

I would install over it so it can for ur case continue your torrent downloads, then i would remove old version with Appzapper.

RE: Pages. Minor updates to pages are always dristributed/installed via software updates. Major versions (such as a new version of iWork) most likely have an installer or something, since it's a big program (Though I may be wrong--I've never installed a new version of Pages...But iLife definatley had an installer.)
