Let me go over this again. I use pwnage 4.2 create a custom restore then it asks me to put it in DFU ( I do) .Then Itunes opens I select the custom restore itunes starts out then errors The Iphone never comes alive no progress bar nothing . then I have to hard reboot to get it going again. weird.

I have seen some posts about having to upgrade from 3.1.0 to 3.1.2 first ? Just nervous about that DONT WANT TO UPGRADE BASEBAND im at 5.11.07 and want to keep it there Thanks for any help

The 3.1.2 bb is unlockable. You don't have to believe me. Go to jailbreakmatrix.com; it shows the bb associated with the stock iOS.
eta: IIRC, 4.0.2 has the last bb unlockable by non ipad bb means.

I wanted to quote the error verbatim so I just did it again and here it is. " The Iphone could not be restored, This device isn't eligible for the requested build '' anybody ever seen this.

Make sure you enter pwned dfu mode thru pwnage or redsnow.
Not regular dfu cause it won't work.
