Updating iPad2 from iOS 4.3.5 without going to iOS 8?

Hi! My dad just gave me an old iPad of his from work and I want to update it but am having trouble.

It is an iPad2 2nd generation but it hasn't been used/updated in at least a couple of years (running iOS 4.3.5 currently). I want to update the software, but not all the way to iOS 8. Is there a way to update it to iOS 6 or 7?

Nope. 8.1.2 or 8.1.3 is the only option.

Unless you have signed SHSH blobs for iOS 5, you can only go to iOS 8.
