Wasn’t really sure where to put this but….

I have a notification that ‘Find My Friends' needs an update. When I try to through iTunes I get the below message;

…except on the iOS App Store it doesn’t exist???
Well I can’t find it, doesn’t appear in the related section when I choose as Apple app. Any ideas anybody?

If you go to the App Store on your iPhone, and select 'Updates' at the bottom right, does it appear there? If not, you can try press 'Purchased' on that same screen and select 'Not on This iPhone' to see if it is visible there.

Alternatively you can try googling the app and then following the URL on your iPhone to open it on your App Store. Normally just searching for it on Google would display it anyway :)

Thanks for coming back to me. Strange.
So it doesn’t appear in the updates list, neither do I see it in ‘Purchased > Not on this iPhone’.
Weridly the google link does find it and there is an install button next to it. I click the app store link and install straight away changes to open. The app details tell me it’s version 4. The iTunes interface on the Mac tells me 4.1 is available???

I hate the App store vehicle. Both of them. :^(

Humm, are you running the iOS 10 beta?

I had this for find my friends and podcasts. I just right clicked and deleted them from iTunes because I got tired of the error message every time I updated. No clue why I got them, but lost interest in finding out.

It’s really beginning to annoy me;

This is another thing I get from time to time. Er….what update???
At the moment, I have an update to the HMRC app. I did update and found that I lost functionality so I restored from a back up. But now I have a permanent badge on updates for something I don’t want.

GRR!

[doublepost=1466096317][/doublepost]I don't know about your find my friends app but I do know how to somewhat solve the problem with the red dot showing an update when there is none. I get that issue every once in awhile with my 5S iPhone. So I had figured out if I delete the last updated app and then reinstall it the red notification dot goes away. It always works for me when it happens. Hope this will help someone.

Im getting the same issue...the find my friends app shows up in my updates tab, but i get an error message (attached) and it wont update. Any clue as to how to fix besides just deleting like Stewie did?

I’m all ready for that next time around. For some reason it really bothers me. First world problems and all that.

Find my friends and podcast are built into iOS 9 and therrefore can not be updated individually. Both of those apps are separate again in iOS 10 and can be updated. The Find my friends 4.1 update is for iOS 10 only. Once you're device is on iOS 10 and running an iTunes version that is iOS 10 compatible it will allow you to update FmF.

Well I guess that answers it then. Annoying that the bugginess of the software allows this to happen.
Thx.
