I'm getting into podcasts now, they're a really great application of technology. In a nutshell: Is it possible to automatically update podcasts to an iPod (regular or Nano) without having to update the music too?

A deeper explanation:
I travel *a lot* and all of my music collection resides on a separate server (so that everyone in the family can listen). When I'm on the road at hotels I'd like to be able to get podcast updates, but I have the problem where it also wants to update my music library, and then wipes out any missing tracks. Is there a way around this?

I think manual updating would be able to stop it from removing your tracks while still letting you update podcasts.
