Hi there,
I am running Mac OSX 10.5.8 and have been unable to play many downloaded Xvid files because it says the my QuickTime needs the additional Xvid software. I have gone through a step by step of downloading the component and putting it in Library/QuickTime but there is still no sounds in my files. This is also the same when I try to use Divx to run these files. Please note that I had to had the QuickTime folder to my library, the step by step guide said that would be okay.
Does anyone have any advice out there on what I should do now? Thanks!
Kiersten

Many Mac users use something called "Perian". It adds components to QuickTime that allows for playback of many filetypes, including Divx and Xvid.
