I don't know if any of you are on reddit, but this idea got 470 upvotes. 88% liked this idea. If jobs is so opposed to people jail breaking the phone, one of the first and probably easiest things to fix is the lock screen. Redditors took some shots of their phones.

I'd like to be able to customize what my locked screen looks like, since it can prevent the data that's the most useful to me. Assuming that it features the time, a weather forecast, notifications, and an appointment forecast, who on Macrumors likes this idea? Any ideas to improve it?

The iPhone GUI and it's success has been built on simplicity, don't bet on Apple changing it any time soon. As to the person above who searched a load of threads, who cares? What is the problem with people making posts? May as well make this forum read only....

Look, we appreciated your enthusiasm. However, there still is no reason to keep cluttering up the forums with threads when your ideas can just as easily be added to existing ones.

For David Ashman's sake I hope they keep the lockscreen just the way it is. LockInfo is simple and sweet and looks just like Apple should do it.

Maybe they could just make him a very rich man? They'd save a lot of work that way.

I truly appreciate you pointing out where I can put ideas, but I thought it warranted noting how much support there was for the idea already. I will make use of those threads in the future though. That said, uninteresting threads get pushed down as people ignore them so I'm not sure what I hurt.

You didn't necessarily hurt anything, per se. Just like to keep things tidy (or try to), and it gets cumbersome trying to wade through so many duplicates! :) I'd recommended grabbing one of the iPhone 5 threads and duplicating your idea there. I'd be willing to bet that more people would see and read it. :)
